Democratic Republic of Congo is in central Africa with a population of over 77 million and economic growth of about 8% annually. Underdeveloped sectors include but are not limited to:
- Telecommunication and energy systems
- Natural resources of coltan, cobalt, copper, niobium, tantalum, petroleum, industrial and gem diamonds, gold, silver, zinc, manganese, tin, uranium, coal, hydropower and timber
- Imports from United States of pharmaceutical products, nuclear reactors, boilers and meats
- Exports to United States of copper, precious stones, wood and inorganic chemical
